Dear Soft Landing community,
It’s been a while…
You know, a thing I learned from talking to ex-founders was that many suffered a feeling of lost identity. Like they’d poured years into advocating for their business, their team, their customers and now, in their absence, they felt a lack of purpose. It seems pretty common. and they all taught me that they just needed some reflection time.
I hadn’t lost my mojo but I’d lost my voice and needed to find it again.
Oh the irony! I made a substack reflecting on lessons learned and yet was unable to take on those lessons myself. Everyone told me I’d need a break - but I was different. After all, I’d been running 110% for 4 years, what’s was four years more? Ha! Wrong!
True, I had many thoughts - a tangle of experiences, reflections, ideas - but I couldn’t make sense of them all. No one thing felt louder than the rest. I hadn’t lost my mojo, but I’d lost my voice and needed to find it again.
Well I’m pleased to say that after a time of reflection, I’ve got something to share.
Are you at a crossroads? Feeling Stuck?
I’ve teamed up with Jamal Stockton (ex Head of Financial Inclusion from Fidelity) to cook up something smart, informative, and with some INCREDIBLE guests.
Our new podcast: “Stuck - how to change your life without breaking the bank.
If Soft Landing was about examining the nuances of failure, resilience, and growth through the written word, Stuck takes those themes and brings them to life in conversation. It’s a podcast for mid-career professionals feeling stuck— whether in their career, personal life, or pursuit of something bigger.
Jamal and I met in our previous roles but invested a lot through 2024 coaching each other through some big changes. We became buddies through the process, especially talking through the personal finance side of things
In Stuck, we explore how to navigate impactful transitions with purpose and an eye toward maintaining financial stability. You’ll hear from experts, entrepreneurs, and people like us who have faced the fear of change head-on. We’ll tackle questions like:
How can we find passions that pay the bills?
How can we leverage our social capital to enter new industries or sectors?
How to de-risk your change by developing an income stream as a professional advisor?
How to balance your personal needs with your responsibilities?
How to talk to our loved ones about making changes that we need?
Think of it as a continuation of the journey we started with Soft Landing, but now with voices, stories, and actionable advice that I hope can be a practical toolkit for folks afraid of maybe giving up a well paying corporate career for something closer to their heart.
If you’ve enjoyed reflecting on themes like failure, credit, and resilience, thank you. I appreciate your time spent on my reflections and I hope you’ll love Stuck. It’s the beginning of a new chapter, and it’s also pretty special to me.
The teaser is up and the first episode drops Jan 21st.

2024 was wild, huh?
It’d help us a LOT if you’d take a moment to subscribe and like the show. Some links for you: Apple podcast link, Spotify link.
This year I worked on developing the brand and marketing for Destileria Arquero, our family’s tequila distillery. I’ll be sharing our premium reserve (first batch, the first regenerative organic certified tequila in the world).
